And so begins another astrological year. April is the month of Aries the Ram and astrologically marks the true start of the year. This is the time to set plans in motion, initiate projects, and embark on a journey. Aries begins to be exact on March 20, the Spring Equinox, when the day and night become equal; Egyptians believed that this is the sacred turning point of the year. However a bit of backtracking and researching may be necessary before we burst forth with enthusiasm. Mercury, the plant of communication spins backward mid month, so it may be a case of revisiting, redoing, and restarting again. Delays and challenges are up ahead especially of a financial nature, so go with the flow, pushing a situation won’t get you far. Rather use this time to re-organize and reflect so when all gets going again, we can move with energetic confidence towards goals.

Erratic conditions and changeable situations of the past five months finally come to end. Mars the planet of drive in backward motion was causing log jams, stalemates and general frustration. Finally from March 10 an unlocking of creative energy and anxieties are released. Projects get the green light and its smooth sailing all the way as we proceed to our goals at lightning speed. Self confidence that has been lacking of late returns giving us the impetuous to make some bold changes if necessary and to shake us out of the doldrums that we find ourselves in. Pisces is the last sign of the astrological year, so this is the month to get our act together, wrap things and set plans in motion. We set off a little unsure but as we move on we gain some ground and kick into high gear. March may start with a whimper but it certainly goes out with a bang!

Finally the year begins to pick up pace after a go slow in the early part of January. However, changes lie beneath the surface, yet to be revealed or to put into action. Mars the planet of movement in backward motion, slows us down until early March. We are tentative and unsure if we should take action, second guessing on our instincts rather than acting upon them. Projects that have been on fast track are stalled and we are forced to re-assess and find a more streamlined approach. February 14 begins the Chinese New Year of the Metal Tiger, the sign of power and bravery. The Tiger year will give you the drive and the daring to win over stiff competition, but of course not without a roar or a battle. 2010 is all about facing one’s fears, taking a risk, and putting yourself out there regardless if you may get eaten alive in the jungle of life.

The Year Ahead

2010 begins a time of renewal, in the past you have endured many highs and lows, this year you learn to bring life into balance and gain a sense of stability.  Before you commence, you’re going to have to do some soul searching; guidance comes through spiritual endeavours which will give you a sense of direction.  From midyear confidence returns and you’re flying on a high. Change is there to make an exit from the life that you know so grab opportunities rather than regretting what you didn’t do. A sense of rebelliousness comes from within; you yearn for freedom and choice, rather than being enslaved to responsibilities that really belong to someone else. Two full moons in your sign this year put you in the astrological spotlight; emotions will be heightened from September 23 and peaking again on October 22. It all comes to a mighty crescendo but necessary if you need to move on free from burdens, the load lighter and optimistic that future holds something new.

Love and Relationships

Love and relationships are a serious business this year.  Relating to people from the personal to professional will take commitment and compromise.  How you interact with others will come under scrutiny.  This is a make or break time, marriages are unified at this time or if an association with a company or individual ain’t working it might be time to call it a day.  Demands will be made on you and personal issues to be dealt with. It’s all about learning to come to terms with your own personal strength and how to handle other people’s power. March 7 and July 29 brings the excitement and spark back into a relationship that was somewhat lacking and solidifies a commitment with another. There is really nothing flippant or frivolous when it comes to your dealings this year, but if you work through problems practically you will strengthen a union and will be together for the long haul.

Career and Finance

This year begins preparation of what’s to come in the future. You want to live a life that you truly want as for too long you’ve gone without. The desire for professional success intensifies, however steam rolling others so you can satisfy your needs may not serve you in the long run nor win any friends. Rather than talking the talk you are going to have to show your employers just how indispensable you really are in these lean times.  Financially from April 17 you will need to be judicious with funds, being stringent will help build that nest egg.   From April 7 to July 21 the pressure will be back on, old projects may be revisited but once the period passes you feel a sense of achievement that you have endured. The year does not start off with a bang, namely due the Mercury the planet of communication in slow mode. But that’s probably just as well, after the fall out of the lunar eclipse we may need some down time to access all that has happened. Due to the backward motion of Mercury, life is a bit haywire and we may be pinched for cash. Fortunately by January 15 financial restraints eases and now we are able to build a monetary plan for the year ahead. Jupiter the planet of luck and fortune enters the artistic, sensitive sign of Pisces on the January 17, all that is creative and spiritual will be heightened for the coming year. The financial global economy will continue to be affected and the change is necessary if we are to reinvent ourselves for the future. Necessity is mother of invention, and in these tricky times, creative visions offer opportunities for growth and evolution. The ingenious, innovative and resourceful are the ones who will survive and thrive in 2010…

As we count down to the ending of the year, December will be nothing short of exciting, revealing and a thought provoking month. What transpires this month especially in the last few days will set the stage for the year to come. Party time begins when the full moon in fun loving Gemini on December 2, hits the social sector. Responsibility and hard work which has been very much the mood of 2009 gives way to celebrations, fun flirtations and just enjoying the moment. The new moon of December 16 is in the adventurous sign of Sagittarius. Destinations are taken of the spiritual or geographical nature which will enhance our vision for the future. Finances, spending and cash will of course be on our minds at this time. Getting your financial house in order before the year is through will make life a whole lot simpler when 2010 kicks in. The lunar eclipse on December 31, is all about completion and finally closes the door to 2009. Endings may be difficult or just a sheer relief, but it offers a new life if we can let go of the old one. Roll on 2010 a new chapter is about to begin…

If you have been slogging away quietly you can finally breathe a sigh of relief. That heavy load that you have been carrying for a while is about to get a little lighter. Saturn, the hard taskmaster planet has finally departed from the long suffering and hard working sign of Virgo. Not only were Virgos affected but all signs when a planet resides for a long duration in a sign. For the past two years we placed responsibility and a dedication to a cause above anything else. Well now the difficult times are over we may be a little exhausted after the experience but we have learned about limitations and our own endurance in the face of obstacles. I am not saying you will never have to work another day in your life, but other factors will now come into play that will be of significance. Saturn sets up home for the next few years in the sociable, people orientated sign of Libra. Partnerships, interaction and your relationship to the world is what will matter. Mercury the planet of communication enters the freedom loving sign of Sagittarius, so travel and holidays will be on our minds. We would rather be somewhere else rather than in the confines of where we find ourselves.  However before you start drifting on a lilo, the year is nearly at a close so bust a move there still time to make it happen.
