Why Tennis (and French Open) is Mostly Ruled by the Gemini!

So Gemini Rafael Nadal is not having the best week ever after suffering his very first and shocking loss in Roland Garros. But as he’ll celebrate his birthday tomorrow, he’ll have a lot of pleasant Twin memories as well. After all, he won all of his four previous French Opens during his birthday week and he’s not the only member of his sign to recently do so. Justin Henin triumphed in Paris four times during her birthday period, and Steffi Graf and Bjorn Borg both conquered the clay Grand Slam an astounding six times each. In fact, tennis is probably THE dominant Gemini sport. It’s physical, it’s quick, and it requires some real mental commitment. And Gemini superstars are usually not the very best team players. Their brains work too fast for the rest of the group and therefore individual sports like tennis tend to be their strongest. There are so many Gemini tennis players, we’ll need a huge tome to list them all, but some other memorable modern numbers #1s include Lindsay Davenport, Kim Clijsters, and Venus Williams. And we’re not even mentioning fan favorite Novak Djokovic or camera appeal queen, Anna Kournikova. While Nadal, Venus, and Djokovic have all crashed out of Paris early this year, there’s still hope for the Twins. Russian Nikolay Davydenko celebrates his birthday today and is playing his quarterfinal match here at the very same time. So Gemini winning streak on the men’s side just might continue for yet another year.
